From unlocking doors in your dorm to unlocking knowledge in the libraries your ID card is your UCSC campus passport, one that can open many aspects of your student experience.
Assuming you submitted your photo on time, you’ll receive your ID card when you first arrive on campus, and it should last you for your entire time at UCSC. First-time students housed on campus during the quarter they receive their first card pay for their cards as part of their housing contract. All other students receiving a first-time card will be billed to their Student Billing Services account during the Fall Quarter (or during the quarter they receive their first card).
If your ID card IS lost or damaged, IDCS can replace your ID card (for a fee, or at no cost depending on the situation).
